Church of St. Francis of Assis Monument

In Gothic style, it is the main existing temple in Porto. Cathedral

Clerigos Church

A baroque work of Nicolau Nasoni, this was built in the first half of the eighteenth century, an oval plan with an interior gilded in Johannine style. Chapel of Souls

The early eighteenth century, this church contains an image of Our Lady of Souls. In 1929, its exterior was covered with tiles representing the life of St. Francis of Assisi and St. Catherine. In 1982, it underwent restoration work. Church of the Carmelites

From the seventeenth century, its classic facade is the fifties of the eighteenth century, created by the architect-painter Nicolau Nasoni. Monastery of São Bento da Vitória

Municipal Theatre – Rivoli

Crystal Palace Gardens

Serralves Park

Originally the first half of the twentieth century, this was the first national private garden, based on a landscape architecture project. This was completed in 1940, with a neo-classical profile of the art of French gardens, but modernized, which pushed the traditional concept of the gardens in Porto. São Bento Station

A civil architecture of the late Middle Ages, this copy is one of the largest of its zone containing elements from different eras. Lapa cemetery

Porto new customs

A neoclassic listed building, erected under the Anglo-Palladian line in the nineteenth century, as the project engineer Jean F. G. Colson. Fort St. Francis Xavier (Queijo Castle)

Freixo Palace

Built in the mid-eighteenth century, one of the most remarkable monuments of the Portuguese Civil Baroque, the architect Nasoni. A quadrangular building with four clods at each angle, covered by roofs pyramid. Serralves Contemporary Art Museum

D. Luís I bridge

Designed by engineer Teófilo Seyrig, Eiffel’s disciples, this was opened in 1886 and consists of two boards in overlapping iron. This bridge is 395 meters long and 8 wide, and its arc is the largest arch in the world wrought iron. At present, the upper deck is used as lines of Oporto Metro, linking the area of the Cathedral in Porto, the Hill Garden and the Avenida da República in Vila Nova de Gaia.

Serra do Pilar

Considered as a World Heritage Site, this began to be built in 1538, ending only in 1670, in order to accommodate the Augustinian Friars of the Grijó monastery, but with the Civil War of 1832-1834, the liberal army took refuge in the monastery. Due to constant attacks, it entered into degradation and was abandoned until 1834, that with the creation of the Royal Brotherhood of Our Lady of Pilar, and later the Group of Friends of the Monastery of Serra do Pilar, in 1925, the museum collection was recovered . The circular church contains a dome surrounded by a balcony, since the circular cloister boasts 36 Ionic columns, something unique in Portugal.
